What Is Self-Parenting?
Written by Dr. John K.

Hello, my name is Dr. John K. Pollard, III. I am the creator and developer of the Self-Parenting Program, and the author of this website.

The purpose of this site is to enable a person, new to Self-Parenting, to practice Self-Parenting sessions and get to the Intermediate Practitioner Status.

You would do this by reading my first book, starting the half-hour sessions, following The 23 Tips , and completing the Ten Steps to Intermediate Practitioner.

This is real deal, how I’ve always taught Self-Parenting, how it was created to be taught, with no short cuts or bs involved.

Does that mean practicing the Self-Parenting Program is easy? Decidedly not.

Self-Parenting is a distinctly difficult mental discipline. Why? Because it’s just you and no one else, and what you don’t do and don't know is all your own fault and your own problem, and your own karma.

Another reason I say this is because so few can manage the discipline and stick with it past a few weeks.

Many people jumped on the “inner child" bandwagon after my book came out in 1987. They became self-proclaimed “experts" on the “inner child," some more famous than me.

Those people are all gone now, moved on to other fads, and why? Because they wouldn’t or couldn’t practice the Self-Parenting Program either.

Self-Parenting draws a line in the sand, and that line is you, taking care of yourself. Self-Parenting is not "inner child" work, it is skillset of you, as the Inner Parent, parenting your Inner Child.

If you think you are ready to take on this discipline for the next 3-6 months, then this website is for you, and I will help you however I can.

And, I can’t do your Self-Parenting Sessions for you. However, I can guide you if you'll follow the guidelines and do the practice as stated. In 3-6 months most practitioners can make it easily to the Intermediate Practitioner status.

If you take this process casually, and think that you know more about this process than I do, you will be swept aside by the river of life and never know what hit you.

I’ve seen it over and over. People do it right and they succeed. People do what “they think" and they’re gone.

I'm here to help you.

It’s your adventure.
